The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine is introducing a new initiative that provides for the appointment of a rescue officer in each territorial community. This was announced by Minister of Internal Affairs Ihor Klymenko. According to him, the main goal is to increase the level of safety of local residents, especially in frontline and border regions.

The rescue officer will become a permanent civil protection specialist in the community. He will be responsible for emergency preparedness, coordination of evacuation measures, compliance with fire safety regulations and response to emergencies. The new format of work will allow for more effective communication with local authorities and the population.
“This is a person who knows the community and its characteristics well, is the first to respond to calls and coordinates actions in critical moments,” Klymenko said. Together with the police, rescue officers will become key elements of the local security system, which is being formed at the level of each community.
