On June 6 in Kherson, at approximately 5:30 PM, a Russian drone attack caused the explosion and destruction of a Volkswagen service vehicle branded with the Ukrainian Red Cross logo. The vehicle was used by the Kherson Regional Organization of the Ukrainian Red Cross Society (URCS).

At the time of the incident, the driver of the Ukrainian Red Cross was inside the vehicle. Upon spotting the drone, he quickly took shelter in a nearby building. Fortunately, no one was injured, according to a Facebook post by the URCS.
“This incident is yet another testament to the conditions under which Ukrainian Red Cross volunteers and staff work every day, assisting people even in areas of constant danger.
Attacks on personnel and facilities of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement are a grave violation of international humanitarian law and are classified as war crimes,” the Ukrainian Red Cross stated.
As reported by HMH.news, the work of the URCS during the full-scale war in Ukraine includes not only humanitarian aid but also infrastructure restoration, social support, and psychological rehabilitation.
It is also known that in April 2025, according to UN data, Ukraine suffered record civilian losses.
