The President of Ukraine has signed Law No. 4397-IX, which gives municipal carriers the right to use vehicles received as humanitarian aid for passenger transportation. The document creates the legal conditions for the official use of buses, trolleybuses and trams received by Ukraine from foreign partners.
The use of such vehicles is allowed for the period of martial law and for 12 months after its end. The law is intended to ensure the proper functioning of public transport in the context of limited resources and increased pressure on municipal services.
At the same time, transport received as humanitarian aid cannot be alienated or transferred to other individuals or legal entities, which guarantees its preservation for public use.
