The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine has prepared a special guide for parents to help them better understand how the assessment system works in the New Ukrainian School (NUS). The document explains the value of new approaches to assessment and the role of formative assessment in a child’s development.
The guide provides practical explanations on how teachers analyse students’ progress, what to look for when parents receive feedback from teachers, and what information is provided by a certificate of achievement. In addition, the guide helps to understand how assessment in the NUS is not aimed at punishment or comparison, but at supporting the individual development of students.
The information will be useful both for parents who want to better navigate the educational process and for educators to communicate with students’ families.
