IDPs are employed more: what has changed in 2025

In the first four months of 2025, more than 50,000 internally displaced Ukrainians applied to the Employment Service. More than 13,000 of them have already found jobs, which is 7% more than last year, according to the State Employment Service.

And the number of such applications is only growing. As of 21 May, it reached 54,000. The most popular areas are job search, training, and participation in business support programmes.

More and more IDPs are finding jobs thanks to compensation programmes for employers. For example, in January-April, more than 400 IDPs with unemployment status received jobs with salary compensation — 76% more than in the same period last year. Most of them were in Zhytomyr.

Another 5.2 thousand IDPs have been employed under the martial law programme. This is 20% more than last year. Employers from Luhansk, Zakarpattia, Sumy and Poltava oblasts are the most active in using this opportunity.

Interest in education is also growing. Since the beginning of the year, 1,300 IDPs have received education vouchers, which is 30% more than in 2024. Vocational training has been provided to 2,400 people, an increase of 5%.

Over a thousand more IDPs have joined public and temporary work, which is 23% more than last year.
