Ukrainian charities can receive a thousand dollars to implement useful projects to support stray animals. To do this, you need to take part in the Help for Tails competition launched by the hosting company HOSTiQ.ua. This year will be the fifth launch.
In 2024, 70 organisations took part in the competition. At that time, a project from the city of Hlukhiv in Sumy region received a grant: the team set up dog enclosures near the frontline. According to Yulia Pimenova, CSR Programme Manager at HOSTiQ, in such regions, there are limited opportunities to attract help, so local initiatives are of particular importance.
“We were scared to apply for a grant – would we be noticed? We decided to do it for the benefit of the animals. With the money we won, we did what we had been dreaming and planning for a long time. We are happy that we managed to improve the living conditions of our wards,” says Yana Sokol, the author of the project that won in 2024.
This year’s winner will be announced in May. The project authors must implement their initiative within a month of receiving funding and report on the costs.
Applications will be accepted until 30 April 2025. More information about the terms of participation can be found here.
