Since the beginning of 2025, about 10,000 newborns have already received baby boxes. This was announced by Petro Dobromilsky, Head of the State Service of Ukraine for Children.

However, most Ukrainian families prefer monetary compensation. According to the Service, more than 41.1 thousand parents have taken advantage of the monetisation option and received a total of over UAH 334.4 million. In April alone, the programme covered 13.4 thousand people, who were paid over UAH 104 million.
The availability of the service is also growing: since the beginning of the year, the State Service has signed 227 additional agreements with retailers that have officially joined the programme. The full list of shops where the funds can be used is published on the website of the Ministry of Social Policy: pakunok-malyuka.ioc.gov.ua.
As part of the programme, it is important to follow the rules for using the funds. If parents do not spend part or all of the amount credited to a special account in an authorised bank within one year, the money is automatically returned to the state. The account itself is closed after 12 months from the date of crediting the funds, even without an additional application.
