From now on, Ukraine’s defenders can get married online without queues and unnecessary bureaucracy. The innovation allows you to choose the date and time of the wedding ceremony in a convenient format, without the need to visit the registry office or collect paper documents. To use the service, servicemen, and women need to log in to the Army+ app, select the Services section, go to Marriage Online. The system will automatically redirect them to the Diia app, where they can book a date and wait for the online ceremony.
The marriage is performed via video conference, which is made possible by the Cisco Webex technical solution provided under a memorandum of understanding between Cisco and the Ministry of Digital Transformation. The project is supported by the Swiss-Ukrainian EGAP Programme implemented by the Eastern Europe Foundation.
This is the first fully digital marriage opportunity for the military in Ukraine. According to the developers, the service is designed to reduce the bureaucratic burden on defenders who defend the country every day. It is part of a broader strategy to digitise public services and is a continuation of the government’s commitment to making services as accessible as possible, regardless of the circumstances.
