Another action of civil resistance took place on the temporarily occupied Crimean peninsula. Activists of the pro-Ukrainian Yellow Ribbon movement reported the appearance of symbolic posters and ribbons in Simferopol and Yalta. This is stated in the movement’s statement published on their Telegram channel.
The protesters placed posters and yellow ribbons in several locations in Simferopol, including near public bus stops, a mural on Kirova and Skvoznaya streets. In Yalta, the symbols of resistance appeared near the palace of Count Mordvinov. According to the activists, these actions are intended to show that despite the control of the occupation administration, pro-Ukrainian sentiments among the peninsula’s residents remain.

The Yellow Ribbon Movement has been active since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine and has become a recognisable symbol of peaceful resistance in the occupied territories. Its participants use non-violent methods of resistance, placing pro-Ukrainian symbols, slogans and elements that signal disagreement with the occupation policy.
In the statement, the activists emphasise that ‘symbols of resistance appear again and again throughout the peninsula’, regardless of the actions of the occupation authorities. Thus, they seek to support the morale of Crimeans and remind them that Crimea is Ukraine.
