During the meetings, the parties discussed the fight against disinformation, the impact of Deep Fake and artificial intelligence technologies, media and internet regulation, and the digitisation of Ukraine’s cultural heritage. Najos emphasised the importance of finding new sources of support for the media in the context of the suspension of some international projects, which has affected the stability of the media environment and security in the country.

The European Union has already allocated €28 million to support Ukrainian independent media, focusing on the personal safety of journalists, financial stability, and the fight against disinformation. In addition, UNESCO, in partnership with the EU, is implementing initiatives to preserve Ukraine’s cultural heritage, including the digitisation of documentary Jewish heritage.
