In the first eight hours after the launch of the service, Ukrainians issued more than 90,000 gun permits through the Diia app. This was announced by Mykhailo Fedorov, Vice Prime Minister for Innovation, Education, Science and Technology, Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine.
According to the minister, the demand for digital permits has been extremely high, which demonstrates the convenience of the service and the willingness of citizens to switch to electronic documents. He also advised to keep the paper permit, but to make the digital version in Diia the main one to use.

The ability to obtain an online permit is another step in the digitalisation of public services. It allows gun owners to conveniently pull up the relevant documents in the app without having to visit institutions. This simplifies access to important information and minimises bureaucratic processes.
Other digital documents are now available in Diia, including driver’s licences, passports, student ID cards and other services that facilitate interaction between citizens and government agencies.
