Border guards will check the purpose of the trip of artists and media when travelling abroad

The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine is introducing stricter controls for artists and media representatives crossing the border. According to SBGS spokesman Andriy Demchenko, the prerequisites for travelling are a letter of request from the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy (MCIP), an official invitation from the host country, military registration documents with the relevant stamps, and passports.

Special attention will be paid to verifying the purpose of the trip. If it is established that a person is heading to an event for which no permission has been granted by the ICIP, or cannot confirm the purpose of the trip, they may be refused entry.

According to Demchenko, border guards have the right to ask a person about their plans outside of Ukraine, as well as to verify information through official requests. The final decision on departure will be made on the basis of all the data received.
