Ukrainians from 40 countries held a Stop the Evil event in support of Ukraine

The global campaign Stop the Evil, initiated by Strichka, a digital platform that unites Ukrainians abroad, is underway. The event was launched on 20 February and will last until 3 March, calling on the international community to provide more active support for Ukraine.

During the first days of the campaign, Ukrainians took to the streets in Belgium, France, the US, Spain, Austria, the UK, Italy, Finland, Germany, Romania and other countries. The main message of the initiative is ‘If Ukraine does not stand, Europe will fall’.

As part of Stop the Evil, participants complete special quests: they join donations to support the military, spread information about Ukraine, participate in local events and invite friends to join. Hundreds of people from 40 countries, including Peru, Argentina, Thailand and Cyprus, joined the campaign in the first few days.

The campaign was supported by well-known Ukrainians, including paramedic Yulia ‘Tyra’ Payevska, musician Oleksandr ‘Fozzy’ Sydorenko, blogger Oleksiy Durnev, travel blogger Anton Ptushkin, hosts Masha Efrosinina and Inna Shevchenko, singer ONUKA and others.

Strichka members organised large-scale events in different countries. Demonstrations were held in Barcelona and Tarragona, more than 7,000 people attended a rally in Hamburg, activists and local residents lit candles in Tampere to commemorate the victims of the war, and Austrian politicians supported the action in Innsbruck. Events also took place in Nancy, Nantes, Ancona, Cluj-Napoca and other cities.

Strichka calls on Ukrainians and allies around the world to join the action, because Ukraine’s struggle is a struggle for the future of the whole of Europe.
