The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved a resolution drafted by the Ministry of Social Policy that provides for the extension of the one-time in-kind compensation for the Baby Box in 2025. Families giving birth to a child will be able to receive a payment of UAH 7689.

The funds can be used to buy baby products in more than 12.5 thousand retail outlets that have joined the monetisation programme. Since the launch of the pilot project in 2020, more than 729,000 Ukrainian families have already taken advantage of this opportunity, and the total amount of payments has exceeded UAH 4.7 billion.
In addition to monetary compensation, the Baby Package itself, a set of more than 50 essential baby items, remains available. In 2024, the Ministry of Social Policy updated its composition in consultation with parents. They shared their experience and suggested changes that would make the set even more useful.
The updated package includes items that are in high demand, such as reusable moisture-resistant diapers and warm clothes. We also increased the size of the blanket plaid and reduced the number of clothes of the smallest size, which babies quickly outgrow. In addition, the set includes the book ‘From Birth to One Year’, created with the support of UNICEF. This is a practical guide that contains advice from Ukrainian and international experts on how to care for a child in the first year of life.
