Lviv railway station is being adapted for inclusivity

Ukrzaliznytsia has announced a tender for the development of scientific and design documentation for the comprehensive adaptation of Lviv railway station to the needs of people with reduced mobility. The key elements of the plan include raising platforms, installing lifts and escalators for easy access to trains and movement around the station.

The project is designed to create comfortable conditions for all passengers, including people with disabilities, the elderly and parents with children in strollers. This initiative is a continuation of the public discussion of the restoration concept, which was held with the participation of the public and representatives of project organisations. As a result of the discussion, suggestions and comments were taken into account in the terms of reference.

The tender is open to project organisations with experience in similar projects. Ukrzaliznytsia expects active participation and a reliable contractor, as this project will determine the convenience of movement at the station for many years to come.
