Swiss businesses will allocate over 93 million Swiss francs to projects for the reconstruction and development of Ukraine. The funding is provided for in a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine and the Swiss Confederation (SECO). The implementation of the initiatives will begin in autumn 2025.
The bulk of the funds — over 76 million francs — will be allocated to projects coordinated by the Ministry of Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine. These include the creation of a railway fastening system production facility in Kremenchuk, the manufacture of contact wires for railway electrification, the construction of modular houses for internally displaced persons in Vinnytsia and Sumy regions. Also, the replacement of windows in damaged houses in Kharkiv and eastern regions.
The initiatives are in line with national recovery strategies and aim to develop social and critical infrastructure, improve housing conditions and create jobs. Some projects will be implemented in frontline and de-occupied territories.
The partnership between the governments of Ukraine and Switzerland has made it possible to involve businesses in the reconstruction process, which contributes to the development of the economy of communities and strengthens international support for the country.
