Blood Donation Bus in Kyiv Collects Over 77 Liters in Three Days

A unique mobile blood donation hub called “Teplokrovni” (“Warm-blooded”) has been launched in Kyiv — a two-story bus where anyone can donate blood in comfortable conditions. The project was implemented by PUMB and Mastercard in partnership with DonorUA and the NGO Agents of Blood to mark Ukraine’s Independence Day.

The second floor of the bus hosts a fully equipped donation station: donors undergo medical tests and a doctor’s consultation under the supervision of a professional medical team. The first floor serves as an educational space, where visitors can learn more about the importance of blood donation. Organizers emphasize that the hub was created not only to collect blood but also to help overcome fears and stereotypes that still surround donation in Ukraine.

During the launch from August 22 to 24 on Kontraktova Square in Kyiv, 172 people donated blood. In total, 77.4 liters were collected in just three days — enough to potentially save more than 500 lives. The initiative also attracted well-known Ukrainians, including actors, TV hosts, athletes, and honorary donors with years of experience.

Organizers note that the mobile hub will continue its journey across Ukraine. The next stop for Teplokrovni will be in Kyiv on September 6, after which the bus will visit other cities. To further support the initiative, PUMB and Mastercard have also launched a limited line of Teplokrovni merchandise, with 50% of proceeds going to the NGO Agents of Blood for the purchase of tactical medical supplies.
