The State Employment Service is expanding support for veterans

Veterans have greater opportunities for employment, retraining and business development thanks to initiatives by the State Employment Service. The programmes are available both at regional employment centres and online, and aim to facilitate the successful reintegration of military personnel into civilian life.

One of the key areas is financial support for entrepreneurship. Veterans can apply for grants of up to 1 million hryvnia to start or expand a business. The conditions include having been a sole proprietor for at least one year, creating new jobs, and co-financing — 70% of the costs are covered by the state.

There is also a vocational training programme for combatants, which provides the opportunity to obtain new qualifications or retrain free of charge. After completing their training, veterans can receive individual support from employment centre specialists, including assistance in starting a business.

For those looking for work, the employment service offers consultations, assistance with preparing resumes and passing interviews. In addition, the state provides financial incentives to employers who hire veterans, including partial compensation for wages.

The information campaign is being implemented as part of a partnership between the Ministry of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine and the Veterans Reintegration Programme, which is being implemented by IREX with the support of the US State Department.
