Children of deceased military personnel, Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred, those missing in action and those who died in captivity are entitled to transfer from contract to budget-funded education. Applications for such a transfer can be submitted until 1 August. This was announced by Ksenia Semenova, a member of the Kyiv City Council.
This is an opportunity for privileged categories to continue their education at universities at the expense of the state, even if they initially enrolled on a contract basis. According to educators, the transfer takes place upon submission of the relevant documents and confirmation of status.

In addition, during the admission campaign, children of combatants can be transferred to state-funded programmes if there are vacancies at the institution. Active military personnel, in particular those with combatant status, can also enrol in part-time studies without taking the national multi-subject test — instead, an interview is conducted.
Military personnel are increasingly choosing education that can be combined with service. This includes both bachelor’s and master’s degrees, particularly in engineering, logistics, and unmanned aerial vehicle operations. This allows them not only to continue their education but also to pursue a career in the military.
