Ukraine has an electronic queue for free artificial joint replacement in state medical institutions. The system was created to ensure transparent and fair access to operations. War veterans have priority access to the queue.
You can register regardless of your place of residence — at any of nearly 100 medical institutions across the country. However, you can only register at one facility and for one type of joint. To join the queue, you must submit an application to the medical facility that performs endoprosthetics, including your personal data, tax identification number, identity document, and a medical opinion from an orthopaedic traumatologist (form No. 028/o). If necessary, it can be obtained after consultation with a referral from a family doctor. For persons with veteran status, supporting documents must be attached.
After registration, the system automatically determines the patient’s place in the queue, taking into account medical indications and the date of application. When it is their turn, the patient will be notified. All information is updated and monitored by the system, and hospitals report monthly on the operations performed and the availability of prostheses.
