The government will allocate another UAH 307.6 million for the modernisation of food facilities in schools and military lyceums.

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved a decree on the allocation of an additional UAH 307.6 million in state subsidies for the modernisation of canteens and food service facilities in educational institutions. These funds are the second part of the UAH 960 million allocated for 2025 to improve food conditions for schoolchildren, particularly in military-oriented institutions.

Twenty-three projects were selected for funding — they were chosen on a competitive basis using the DREAM digital ecosystem. The system automatically ranked the project applications, taking into account a number of criteria, including technical readiness, number of students, availability of shelters, and guaranteed co-financing from local budgets.

All proposals were evaluated by specialists from the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine together with independent experts and representatives of regional military administrations. This approach made it possible to objectively identify the projects that best meet the programme criteria.

General secondary education institutions, including military lyceums, with 200 or more students (or 100 or more if the school is the only one in the community), offering full-time or blended learning, with shelters or plans to build them, are eligible to participate in the selection process. Important conditions for participation also include the availability of project and cost estimate documentation and the institution’s logistical capacity to operate according to the “support kitchen” model.
