Free transportation project for people with limited mobility launched in Lviv region

In April 2025, a new project called Social Transportation was launched in the Lviv region. It was created to help people who find it difficult to get to a doctor or hospital on their own. The free rides are organised by the Lviv Regional Organisation of the Red Cross of Ukraine with the support of colleagues from Austria.

Veterans, people with disabilities, the elderly (65+), those undergoing haemodialysis, and people who temporarily have problems with movement, such as after fractures, can use this transport. The service is intended for routine medical procedures or examinations that do not require an ambulance or a doctor’s escort.

To take advantage of the free ride, you need to call 067 145 04 97 at least two days before the trip. This helps to plan routes better and help more people.
