Compensation of tuition fees for children of veterans launched at Diia

The first 1,000 children of Ukraine’s defenders have already received notifications in the Diia app about the possibility of compensation for the cost of contractual education in vocational, professional pre-university and higher education institutions. The programme is currently operating in a pilot mode and is being implemented by the Ministry of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine.

First of all, bachelor’s and master’s students receive notifications to provide them with guaranteed support before the end of the academic year. The system of sending notifications is carried out in stages. After receiving the notification in Diia, the student has 20 calendar days to confirm the certificate. Only then will the compensation funds be transferred directly to the account of the educational institution.

If the notification has not yet been received, it is worth checking with the educational institution to see if it has concluded an agreement with the Ministry of Veterans, and to make sure that all the necessary documents have been submitted: a birth certificate and an extract from the Unified State Register of War Veterans (USRVV).
