More than 20 startup schools to be opened at universities in Ukraine to develop innovations

A national project to launch a network of start-up schools based at universities and research institutions has been launched in Ukraine. The initiative is being implemented by the Ministry of Education and Science in cooperation with the Innovation Development Fund and aims to strengthen the role of educational institutions in shaping the country’s innovation economy.

The startup schools will function as incubators and accelerators, helping students, young scientists and entrepreneurs turn their ideas into full-fledged business projects. Participants will be able to count on mentoring support, access to infrastructure, tools for attracting investment and developing entrepreneurial skills.

The main goal of the programme is to promote the commercialisation of scientific research, the development of technological entrepreneurship and the deeper integration of universities into the modern innovation economy. This will also contribute to economic growth and technological progress at the national level.

To date, more than 20 leading educational and research institutions have already joined the network, including the Kyiv Aviation Institute, Kyiv Academic University, Ukrainian Catholic University, Kyiv School of Economics, polytechnic universities of Lviv, Dnipro, Odesa, Zhytomyr, Zaporizhzhia and the E.O. Paton Institute of Electric Welding of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.

The project is open to new participants – universities and research institutions can apply online. The decision to join the network is made by the Innovation Development Council under the Ministry of Education and Science.
