On 23 May, Kyiv will host the Third Annual International Conference ‘Ukrainian Leadership in Aid’. This event has become a platform for dialogue between humanitarian practitioners, public sector representatives, international partners and local initiatives. The organisers aim to create a space of trust where key challenges and opportunities in the aid sector can be discussed openly.

The main topics will include building localisation in the face of uncertainty, ethical exit planning for international partners, and the need for mutual understanding between all participants in the humanitarian ecosystem. The conference programme will include panel discussions, practical workshops and opportunities for joint solution finding. The event will be held in a mixed format — offline and online, with a broadcast on YouTube. The working languages are Ukrainian and English, with simultaneous translation.
You can register for the event via a special form.
The programme will include a minute of silence in memory of humanitarian workers and volunteers who died saving others. The organisers will prepare a photo ribbon of remembrance with the names and faces of those who fulfilled their mission to the last. You can submit photos and information about your fallen colleagues by 14 May using a special form.
The conference aims not only to share experience, but also to help build a common vision for the future of humanitarian aid in Ukraine.
