NMT 2025: what is known about the dates, subjects and rules of testing

The National Multisubject Test is a mandatory stage for admission to a bachelor’s degree programme at Ukrainian higher education institutions. The test will also be taken by applicants planning to obtain a master’s degree in medical specialities. This was reported by the Ukrainian Centre for Educational Quality Assessment.

In 2025, the NMT will be held in a fully computerised format, which, according to the organisers, will ensure equal conditions for all participants. This year, the State Final Examination (SFE) has been cancelled, so the test results will not be taken into account as a grade for the SFE.

The test includes four subjects: three of them are compulsory – Ukrainian language, mathematics and history of Ukraine. The fourth subject is chosen by the applicant from the list: Ukrainian literature, a foreign language (English, German, French or Spanish), biology, physics, chemistry or geography.

The test will be held in two stages lasting two hours with a 20-minute break between them. The first stage will include the Ukrainian language and mathematics, and the second stage will include the history of Ukraine and the chosen subject.

Registration for the NMT ended on 3 April. Starting 3 May, participants will be able to find out the place and time of the test through their personal electronic accounts. Notifications will be sent exclusively online – no letters will be sent by post.

The main session of NMT 2025 will last from 14 May to 25 June, and the additional session will be held from 14 to 25 July. After completing the test, participants will immediately see the results in terms of points for each subject. The final test score will be converted to a scale of 100 to 200 in accordance with the approved methodology of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.

The results of the main session should be available in electronic accounts by 4 July. It is also important to take into account the weighting coefficients of each subject, which are determined by a particular university and depend on the chosen speciality. You can find them on the websites of admission committees.

In addition, some communities reward high test scores with cash prizes. In Chernivtsi, for example, they promise 30 thousand hryvnias for the highest score, in Ternopil – 16 thousand, and in one of the villages of Ternopil region – 20 thousand hryvnias to a graduate and his teacher.
