Support for veterans and their families in Ukrainian hospitals to be expanded in 2025

The Government of Ukraine has approved a decision to expand the programme of support for the country’s defenders and their families in healthcare facilities. This was announced by the representative of the Cabinet of Ministers in the Verkhovna Rada, Taras Melnychuk.

The programme will provide additional assistance to veterans, demobilised servicemen and women and their families during hospital stays. Specially trained professionals are being introduced to accompany veterans and help people with disabilities, including those who have lost their sight.

Specialists will also be involved to provide orientation and mobility services, which is especially important for veterans with serious injuries or those who need to adapt to new living conditions after the frontline.

The expansion of this programme is part of the government’s comprehensive policy to support servicemen and women who defended Ukraine’s independence and territorial integrity and ensure their full reintegration into society.
