A Bashkir band supporting the Russian army topped the top songs on Apple Music in Ukraine

The song Homay by the Bashkir band Ay Yola, whose members have publicly supported the Russian army, took the top spot on the Apple Music streaming platform.

However, tracks by Ukrainian artists also appeared in the tops, including: ‘Zirochka Palay’ by Anna Trincher, “Vymoliv” by Jerry Heil and Monatik, and “Man” by by Alena Omargalieva.

At the same time, Russian artists such as Miyagi, Morgenstern, Makan and Scriptonite remain in the top 100 list, despite calls from Ukrainian artists, activists and media to boycott Russian content.

The song Homay is gaining popularity, in particular, thanks to TikTok. Bloggers and ordinary users use it for their videos.
