Starting 21 March, Kyiv’s public ground transport, including municipal and private carriers, will run even during air raids, but with certain changes in operation.
From now on, during an air raid alert, transport will stop at shelters along the route, and passengers will be able to leave the vehicle at will. Drivers will inform passengers about the possibility of further movement, after which the transport will continue its route. The drivers’ job descriptions will be amended accordingly.
According to Timur Tkachenko, Head of the KMDA, this is not just a change in the rules, but a necessary step to ensure the smooth functioning of the city under martial law.
