The State Agency for Tourism Development (SATD) has started accepting applications from Ukrainian communities for The Best Tourism Villages 2025 competition organised by UN Tourism.
This initiative is aimed at supporting rural communities where tourism contributes to the preservation of cultural heritage, natural resources and local economic development. Up to eight villages can be nominated from each country. In Ukraine, the selection of participants will be carried out by an independent commission under SATD.

The competition is supported by the Rural Green Tourism in Ukraine organisation. Applications can be submitted by 17 March 2025 by sending documents to dart@tourism.gov.ua with the subject line ‘The Best Tourism Villages Competition’.
The winners will be determined by the UN Tourism Advisory Board, which will evaluate applications based on sustainable development criteria: economy, social and environmental. The results will be published in the fourth quarter of 2025 on the official resources of UN Tourism and SATD.
