As a result of the attack, the structure sustained significant damage. A fire broke out at the site and was promptly extinguished. According to experts, the level of radiation currently does not exceed the norm, but the situation is under constant control.

This strike is yet another proof that Russia continues to disregard international law and threatens global security. Military action in the Chornobyl exclusion zone, which is one of the most radiation-hazardous places in the world, could have catastrophic consequences not only for Ukraine but for all of humanity.

Every night, the Russian army attacks Ukraine’s critical infrastructure, striking energy facilities and civilian towns. This demonstrates the Kremlin’s unwillingness to negotiate and its desire to continue its aggression. The Ukrainian government calls on the international community to increase pressure on Russia and hold it accountable for its crimes against humanity.
